Urban + street
As an urban photographer who spent the initial half of my life in Istanbul (and my adult life in New York City) - my central focus was to capture the city's diversity and pulse through the lens of street photography; highlighting its rich and unique energy. I strive to convey the spirit of the city with each click of my camera, illuminating aspects of urban life that might surprise and change the viewer.
Creative Documentary
The goal of creative documentary photography is to present real-life subjects and situations in a visually captivating and thought-provoking manner that encourages viewers to engage with the story or message behind the image. As an LGBTQ+ activist and advocate, I have made a point to capture the annual Pride March in New York City for over a decade. Through my work, I strive to celebrate the strength and diversity of our community while also amplifying our messages to raise awareness in the pursuit of social justice. It is an honor to contribute to the legacy of the Pride movement and to hopefully inspire others to join in the fight for a more just and inclusive world.
Portraits
My portrait photography work is focused on capturing the essence of human experience and identity through intimate and often candid portraits.
An introverted child of the 80s
Yup, that’s me. I’ve found myself both fascinated with and inspired by American pop-culture for as long as I can remember. While I came of age in a third-world nation in the 80s, I’m delighted to report that I remain an 80s pop-kid at heart. Now a New Yorker for over 20 years, I’m a 47 year-old man exploring the city: tiny camera in hand, (wired) headphones in ear, and blasting the likes of Madonna, MJ, Pet Shop Boys, and Erasure. My varied tastes in music often spill into my loving photography of the city.
